Tips for Parents:
Please bring your children on time. Coming in late distracts the class in progress. If you do come in late, please make sure your child knows he/she should stan dnear the side wall and WAIT to be invited to join the class. Chronic lateness will NOT be tolerated.
Please DO NOT wash your child's belt. According to tradition, belts are NEVER washed. PLEASE DO, however, wash your child's uniform (Gi) often.
Please remember, food, drinks, candy or gum are NOT PERMITTED in our school (Dojo). This rule is for EVERYONE- parents, students, instructors, and guests.
Terminology:
DOJO - Karate School (Doe-Joe)
GI- Karate Uniform (Rhymes with "KEY")
SENSEI - Teacher (Sen-Say)
SEMPAI- Senior Student (Sem-Pie)
Bowing is merely a sign of respect, there is no religious association. It is respectful for STUDENTS (parents optional) to bow every time they enter or leave the dojo, and when they see or speak to Sensei. Also, when sparring or training with a partner, it is customary to show respect by bowing to each other.
SPARRING GEAR:
All sparring gear MUST be purchased through our school, and show the school logo. Students may borrow our sparring gear until they have reached the rank of Purple Stripe, at which point they will be required to have their own.
PATCHES-
Patches reflect pride in
our school and each child's
acheivements. Patches should
be sewn completely,
neatly, and correctly.

School Patch:
Left side chest (over heart)
Recognition Patches:
Right side chest (opposite school patch)
OR under school patch
Student of the Month:
Left sleeve
We do not keep a LOST AND FOUND at our dojo. If your child is missing some article of clothing, please come get it as soon as possible. If we see it laying around for more than a week, it will be tossed OUT.
